Zentangle

A Meditative Art that Builds Calm, Focus, and Confidence.

What is it?

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles.

You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the "Elemental Strokes" in all Zentangle art.

What are the Benefits?

Find Your Inner Artist (even if you don't think you are talented): Explore creativity with simple, elemental strokes like dots, lines, and curves—no prior artistry experience required.

Find Your Calm: Experience the meditative benefits of focusing on each stroke, cultivating relaxation and mindfulness.

How to get started?

1️⃣ Gather your materials – You’ll need: ✔️ A 3.5-inch square of paper or cardstock ✔️ A No. 2 pencil ✔️ A Micron pen (01) or fine-point marker ✔️ A Tortillon / smudger (optional for shading) 2️⃣ Find a quiet space – Settle into a comfortable spot where you can focus. 3️⃣ Start with a simple pattern from zentangle.com with simple shapes - a dot, a line, or a curve. There’s no right or wrong! 4️⃣ Let the pattern unfold – Follow the strokes one at a time, allowing your creativity to flow. 5️⃣ Breathe and enjoy the process – Zentangle is about relaxation, not perfection. No artistic experience needed—just an open mind and a willingness to explore!
